Maxine Wingren Obituary

Maxine Marian Wingren, 87, of Antioch, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Gurnee, IL. She was born on September 12, 1932, in Chicago, IL to the late William and Jean (Schlieben) Zaborowski. Maxine was a member of the Antioch Moose Lodge for more than 40 years. She enjoyed playing Cribbage and Pinochle at the Antioch Senior Center; and in her younger years, enjoyed playing volleyball. At the young age of 59, Maxine and her husband, Jack, became snowbirds traveling from Illinois to Florida for the past 27 years. During her time in Florida, Maxine played golf every day, played cards almost every night, bowled every week, and played Bingo. She loved her entire family dearly, and will be deeply missed. Maxine is survived by her loving family, her children, Dianne (Russell) Berry, Donna (Bill) Sternberg, Sue (Dave) Finley, Linda (Joe) Nehnevaj, Kathy (Milt) Scherer, John (Pam) Wingren, Joyce (Brian) Phillips, Scot (Abby) Wingren, and Jill (Todd) Uzzardo; 26 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; brother, Leonard (Delores) Zabor; sister-in-law, Nancy Boyce; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Fesanco; second husband, John “Jack” Wingren; son, Joseph Fesanco; two sons-in-law; two brothers, Charles Zaborowski and Hillard Zaborowski; one sister, Frances “Dodo” Gathman; four grandchildren, Phillip, Ryan, Heather, and Justin. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020, from 5-9pm at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake (please follow safe distancing guidelines, and please wear a face mask). A funeral mass will take place on Friday, June 19, 2020, at 10am (please meet at the church, and please wear a face mask) at St. Peter Catholic Church, 557 Lake Street, Antioch, IL. Burial will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
