Michael James Gier, 55, a lifelong resident of the Fox Lake area, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Zion, with his wife at his side. He was born January 20, 1965, in McHenry, to John and Lynn (nee Booth) Gier.
Michael was a foreman for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 134, and had been a union electrician for over 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with this family, golfing, vacationing in Florida, and was looking forward to taking his grandson on a trip to Kissimmee, Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Rita (nee Pousson-Saldivar); sons, Jeffery and Nicholas Gier, Dustin, Derrick, and Dillon Pousson, and Deon Lopez; grandson, Lincoln Pousson; parents, John and Lynn Gier; and mother-in-law, Dominga (the late Inocencio) Saldivar.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date.
