Michael J. Kruk, age 87, of Ingleside, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Chicago, Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose quiet strength and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him.

Mike worked for many years as a skilled machinist at Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC), and later at Ace Hardware and Motorola. He took pride in his work and in doing things right, a value he carried through every part of his life.

Deeply committed to his family and community, Mike served as Cub Master and Boy Scout Leader for his son’s scout troops, helping to guide and mentor countless young people along the way. He shared a lifelong love of bowling with his father and passed that passion on to his daughter. He also loved fishing and simply sitting in his yard, finding joy and peace in the outdoors.

Mike had a big heart and was always ready to lend a hand, no matter the task. Whether it was fixing something around the house or helping a friend with a bigger project, he never hesitated to give his time and talent to others.

He is survived by his wife, Erika; children, Debra (Ron) Fiege and Michael (Diana) Kruk; grandchildren, Michael Kruk, Alex Kruk, and Kyle (Natalie) Kruk, and great-granddaughter, Camila. Mike is also survived by his brother, Dennis (Carmella) Kruk, brother-in-law Karl Ferstl, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Irene Kruk, and brother John (the late Diane) Kruk.

Michael's kindness, quiet wisdom, and selfless love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who were lucky enough to know him.

All are invited to an open-house reception to be held at the family home in Ingleside on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 3-8 p.m.  Interment will take place Saturday, August 16, 2025, 10 a.m. at East Fox Lake Cemetery, West Old Monaville Road, Lake Villa, Illinois.
