Nicholas Baron Burke, 81, of Fox Lake, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, at home.  He was born March 28, 1942, in Chicago, to the late Arthur and Mary (nee Baron) Burke.

Nick attended Marquette University and graduated from Northwestern University.  He went on to have asuccessful career as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner.  Known to be mischievous, friendly, generous, and adventurous, Nick was an avid Northwestern Wildcats and Chicago Cubs fan.  He was passionate in all things and enjoyed laughing, music, being an expert salad-dressing maker; and a friend to all dogs (even difficult ones). 

He is survived by his wife, Alyce Adesko; Children from a previous marriage, Nicholas B. Burke Jr. (Josie Cabrera), Mary Joe Burke-Roehrig (Dale), Elizabeth Burke-Simmons (nee Tom), Patricia Burke-Baxter (Vicky); siblings, Anne Kemper and Arthur (Marcia) Burke; grandchildren, Jocelyn Nicole Burke, Dale Kathryn Roehrig, Thomas (Erin) Simmons (Hunter, Cameron, Amara Rose), and Samantha (Dustin) Taylor (DJ, Rhett, Baylee); as well as many other step children, step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren.

Nick will be interred in the Adesko Family Plot in St. Adalbert Cemetery, 6800 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714, on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 10:30 a.m..  A lunch will follow the brief committal service.
