Paul "Paulie" J. Ferdinand, 60, of Fox Lake, IL, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022.

He resided in Round Lake, IL for many years before settling on the lake enjoying the “boat life” in Fox Lake. Paul greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife, riding his Harley, boating, fishing, gardening, and socializing. Paul loved his step-children as their unique personalities always kept him entertained. He will always be known as the badass looking nice guy, and the #1 Chicago sports fan. 

In addition, Paul had worked for many years in management for Dominick's and was a proud member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. 

Paul is survived by his wife, Laura Ferdinand; three step children, Jamie (Randy) Smith of Johnsburg, IL, Sarah McHugh of Fox Lake, and Michael McHugh of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Callie Smith and Wyatt Smith; one sibling, Anna Ferdinand; and many cousins and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Andreas and Magdalena Ferdinand. 

Visitation will be Friday, March 11, from 4-8 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake.  Visitation will resume Saturday, March 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Antioch, IL.
