Robert “Bob” F. Warden, 82, a longtime resident of Ingleside, passed away surrounded by his loving family Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital. He was born June 15, 1939, in Chicago, to the late Joseph and Josephine (nee Matuszewski) Warden. Bob married Lauretta Pickering on July 26, 1968.
Bob was dedicated to his family, friends and community. He enjoyed his family most of all and was proud of what all his children had accomplished in their lives. Watching his grandchildren grow, attending college and becoming adults was very special to him. He loved going on family vacations, dropping by their houses to visit, donating his time to them to work on whatever they needed to be done and taking them to Costco whether they needed anything or not. Bob was a leader by nature and was instrumental in keeping the very large Warden family connected. He and Lauretta were always there for everyone. Whether it was attending a family function, birthdays, graduations, or weddings you could count on him to be there. His home was always open to any family member to stop by. He had a large and lasting impact in every Warden’s life.
Next to his family, Bob had a passion for gardening and fish his entire life. He always had flowers, plants and trees growing at his house to drop off at his children’s house to spice them up every year. Bob always had many aquariums running raising all types of fish. Bob’s secret love was to be a farmer and loved being at his farm in Little Suamico, WI. The farm has provided many lasting memories for his entire extended family that are still shared today. Bob’s dedication to the community was immense. He was a mason who donated his time to help construct many projects in the community, was a longtime member of the Fox Lake Planning Commission and volunteered at the St. Bede’s St. Vincent de Paul Society with his loving wife.
