Ronald Drozek, 78, of Lake Villa, died Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, after a valiant, and hard-fought fight to live. He was born June 24, 1942, in Chicago.
A man who loved and squeezed as much enjoyment from life, Ronald enjoyed camping, painting in several mediums, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Ronald was known for his sense of humor and his good nature rubbed off on all he met.
Ronald proudly served as an MM3 on the USS San Marcos (LSD-25)
Survivors include his wife, Irma (nee Popielewski); children, Dawn (Kevin) Neary, Kerri (Kenny) Tiffany, Dean Drozek, and Kristi (Sandor III) Horky; grandchildren, Kathryn, Patrick, and Brendan Neary, Jennie Erin Tiffany, and Sandor IV, Benjamin, and Henry Sandor; sister, Maggie (Arthur) Holland; his “other children” niece and nephew, Virginia (Pepe) Garcia and Frank (Ramona) Drozek, as well as many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Catherine (Edward) Riblon; and brother-in-law, Martin (Christine) Popielewski.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Veronica (nee Sadowski) Drozek; and brother, Ralph Drozek.
For the safety of the family, the visitation and Navy funeral honors will be by invitation only. Please note while inside the funeral home face masks will be required to be worn, as well as physical distancing practiced.
