Ronald “Ron the Painter” S. Kucharski, Sr., 71, of Spring Grove, formerly of Mundelein and Chicago, unexpectedly passed away June 3, 2025, at home.  He was born in Chicago June 22, 1953, to the late Leonard and Marie (nee Costa) Kucharski, Sr.

Ron was a union painter with Local Painters District Council14 for over 20 years.  In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, football (especially the Pittsburgh Steelers), boating, and was an avid White Sox fan.

Survivors include his wife Kathleen “Kathy” (nee Lumpp); children, Anthony (Staci) Kucharski, Krystal Ann (Adam) Jay, Ronald (Brie) Kucharski Jr., Kelly (Jason) Martens, and Ryan Kucharski; grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor Kucharski, and Zachary Jay; his niece, Melissa (the late Scott) Nelson (and her sons, Vincent and Paul) to which he was a father figure; brother, Leonard Jr., and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by siblings, Michael, Phillip, and Lynn Kucharski.

Ron’s family will be inviting friends and family to a future celebration of Ron’s life.
