Samantha “Sammy” Ann Rowden, 53, of Antioch, unexpectedly passed away at home Thursday, January 26, 2023. She was born September 21, 1969, in Waukegan, to Roberta (the late Earl) Trier and Donald E. Rowden, Jr.
Sammy was a 1987 graduate of Grant Community High School and went on to earn her commercial driver’s license. She worked as a truck driver locally and for the Illinois Department of Transportation, and was a member of Teamsters Local 330.
In addition to her parents, Sammy is survived by brothers, Mike (Jennifer) Rowden, Donny (Carole) Rowden III, and Dave (Kelly) Rowden; nieces and nephews, Sienna, Angela, Don IV, and Kailey; great nieces and nephews, Riley, Alyssa, Oliver, Marianna, Bobby, Daemyn and Alysia; uncles and aunt, Robert Rowden, Diane (Jack) McFadden, and Robert (Ellen) Bishop; step siblings, Tim (Jervaun) Trier, James (Amy) Trier, and Tom Trier; sister-in-law, Nancy Bishop; her beloved and faithful canine, Dehlila; and an abundance of extended family and friends.
Sammy was preceded in death by niece, Melonie; and uncle, Eric Bishop. She was also preceded in death by her beloved Riley, her dog for 17 years, it is hard to think of Sammy without her dogs.
A celebration of Sammy’s life will be Thursday, February 9, from 3-7 p.m., at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake. A gathering will follow.
