Sofia Rose Uribe, 24, of Lake Villa, unexpectedly passed away at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. She was born July 23, 1999, in Waukegan to Noe and Kimberly (nee Andersen) Uribe.
Sofia grew up in Lake Villa and graduated early from Grant Community High School in 2017. She went on to obtain her dental assistant degree from First Institute, Crystal Lake, in 2017.
Sofia was a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and cousin. She was the most vibrant and sweetest soul ever known. She always put everyone before herself. You never had to question her love, she loved so deeply. She was the brightest light in every room, and she didn’t have a mean bone in her body. She was the first person you’d turn to when you needed advice or a shoulder to cry on. She was also the person you’d turn to if you needed to laugh. She had the most contagious laugh. If she was laughing, the rest of the room was, too.
She was adventurous and loved to explore. She thrived in outdoor activities such as horseback riding, beach days, hiking, boating, running, and much more. She was passionate about keeping her family, friends, and loved ones happy. She was known for her beautiful smile and bright hazel eyes. Sofia left precious memories on this earth that will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her loving parents, Noe and Kimberly Uribe of Lake Villa; and beloved siblings, Francisco, Ronny, and Mercedes of Lake Villa. Sofia is further survived by paternal grandparents, Francisco and Julia Uribe of Guerrero, Mexico; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Elizabeth Andersen of Fox Lake; aunts, Victoria (Dave) Blackowicz, Dawn (Len) Foley, and Lily (Pablo) Alvarez; uncle, Angel (Aurora) Uribe; and cousins, Lili and Michael Foley, Angel Jr., Karen, Michelle, Alina Uribe, Maria, Fatima, Pablo Jr. Alvarez.
She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Tony and Bridget Bellacero and Ella Mae and Richard Andersen.
