Susan Podolski Obituary
Susan M. Podolski (nee Davis), 72, of Fox Lake, formerly of McHenry, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. She was born May 2, 1948, in Oak Park, to the late Robert and Jeannette (nee Gries) Davis.
Sue was an active and beloved member of the community and a longtime school secretary at St. John the Baptist Catholic School, Johnsburg. She touched many lives through her role at St. John and made lifelong friends of parents, students, and staff. In retirement, she was a devoted volunteer for 1st Way Life Center, Johnsburg, an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Spring Grove, and regularly enjoyed visiting La Salette Missionaries and Shrine, Twin Lakes.
Sue loved being outside, gardening, boating, and above all spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Cari (Doug) Heizer and Ryan Podolski; grandchildren, Sofia and Chloe Heizer; siblings, Timothy (Suzette) Davis, Jerome (Donna) Davis, Julie (Ron Smith) Davis, and Wendie Lloyd; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Pam) and Jim (Joanne) Podolski; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and good friends.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Rich” in 2019; and sister, Pamela Davis.
A private memorial Mass and inurnment will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church and Cemetery Columbarium, Spring Grove. A celebration of Sue’s life will be announced for a future date.
