Thomas J. Rogge, age 77 of Fox Lake, IL, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022, at JourneyCare Hospice CareCenter in Barrington, IL.
Tom was born August 17, 1945, in Milwaukee, WI to Carl and Mary Ann (nee Peterson) Rogge. He married the love of his life, Pamela J. (nee Shumate) July 23, 1966. Tom and his wife were longtime residents of Lake County, IL.
He started his career wiring electrical panels for his father at Panelmaster in Libertyville, IL. This led to a lifelong career as an Electrical Technologist at Baxter Healthcare. His career was very rewarding to him and kept him traveling all over the globe. He loved to share stories of his travels as he saw and experienced so much of the world. Once he retired, he spent some time traveling and visiting his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren during his retirement. His ultimate passion was racing, whether it was going to the local dirt tracks or watching NASCAR; any form of racing was enjoyable to him. Another enjoyment during retirement was eating daily meals at his favorite restaurants; he made so many wonderful friends.
Thomas is survived by daughters, Sheila (Carl) Geier, Lake Villa, IL, and Winnie (Joseph) Lalanda, Round Lake, IL; grandchildren, Victoria (Jonathan) Timm, Elgin, MN, Justin (Zachary Ihn) Lalanda, Libertyville, IL, Christopher (Jessica) Geier, Spring Grove, IL, Jared (Emily Stenson) Lalanda, Northbrook, IL, and Robert (Claire Gallegos) Geier, San Lorenzo, CA; great-grandchildren, Carson Timm, Damian Timm, Marshall Timm, and Lily Geier; siblings, Carol Kozlowski, Robert Rogge, and Ann (James) Bain; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela; parents, Carl W. and Mary Ann (nee Peterson) Rogge; brother, Michael Rogge; sister, Mary Ellen (Rogge) Hoye; and niece, Kimberly Kozlowski.
Tom’s family is immensely grateful for the support of daily visits and care from many members of the family and JourneyCare hospice team. With everyone’s support, Tom was able to remain at home until a few days before his death.
