William “Bill” C. Schramm, 71, a 41-year resident of Fox Lake, peacefully passed away at home Friday, April 2, 2021. He was born June 21, 1949, in Chicago, to the late William K. and Wilhelmina (nee Kreher) Schramm.
Bill had a long career as a manager in the telecommunications industry. He loved living on Fox Lake and all the activities lake life had to offer, was a gun collector who enjoyed shooting skeet, and was a talented musician who played guitar, bass guitar, organ, and dulcimer. Above all, he was passionate about spending time with his family—especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janine (nee Anderson), whom he married September 16, 1972, at Tabor Lutheran Church, Chicago; children, Heather (Aaron) Butler, Vanessa (Ron) Kersten, Stephanie Schramm-Derifield, and William F. (Bethany) Schramm; grandchildren, Alexandra and James Butler, Karissa and Cole Kersten, Alexis Derifield, and Liam and Brooke Schramm.
Bill was a longtime member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of All Saints, Fox Lake, where a celebration of his life will be announced for a future date.
