Mary Ann Moran (nee Smith), a lifelong resident of Johnsburg, died November 3, 2015, in Lake Zurich, due to a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 75.
Born May 19, 1940, in Steele, MO, to Charles and Pauline, Mary Ann was second-born of six sisters.
In 1960, she married Wayne Edward Moran (who died September 4, 1994) with whom she bore four sons and had 10 grandchildren. Her survivors include sons, Wayne Jr., wife Catherine, and their children, Cassandra, Alyssa, Wayne Austin, Colleen and Ryan; Michael; Jamie, wife Kelly, and their children Colin, Cayden, and the late Kendall and Kylie (who both preceded Mary Ann in death far too soon); and Ryan, fiancée Erickah, and their son, Macallister; and sisters, Paula, Carlin, Linda, and Dolly. She was also loved by many nieces, nephews and their children as well.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marion.
Mary Ann will be most remembered for her years of service to Johnsburg, as owner of the "Creamy Cone". She served up more than a wonderful ice cream treat or delicious burger. She truly enjoyed the social atmosphere with a genuine smile and sense of humor. When she wasn't keeping her four sons in order, she enjoyed dancing, laughing, and living everyday with much laughter and love.
Mary Ann Moran will be remembered on Sunday, November 8, 2015, during a memorial visitation from 1-3 p.m. at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd. Fox Lake, IL 60020. All are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
