Celestine “Sally” Bieschke (nee Rolling), 91, a resident of Leisure Village in Fox Lake for the past 11 years, formerly of Ingleside and Chicago, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016, at home surrounded by family.
She was born March 7, 1925, in Chicago, to the late Gregor and Catherine (nee Pettinger) Rolling, and married the late George J. Bieschke, June 22, 1946, in Chicago, at St. Margaret Mary Church.
Sally was an avid Bingo player, who enjoyed painting, knitting (especially afghans), ceramics, and Bernie on the Go extended trips. She was known for remembering the birthdays of her many family members and friends by sending them cards. Most of all Sally loved to spend time with her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a member of the Fox Lake American Legion Auxiliary #703.
Sally is survived by her children, Mary Ann (Norman) Fischer of Spring Grove, John (the late Gail Dillon-Bieschke) Bieschke of Fox lake, James (Catherine) Bieschke of Morton Grove, Janet (Randy) Howell of Crystal Lake, and Kenneth (Janice) Bieschke of Fox Lake; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her husband and daughter-in-law, Sally was preceded in death by her 12 brothers and sisters.
The visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Monday, October 24, at Hamsher Lakeside Funerals and Cremations, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake, with prayer and auxiliary services at 7 p.m.
Transfer prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, at the funeral home with a procession to St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, for a 10 a.m., Mass of the Resurrection. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
In lieu of flowers, masses appreciated.
